A teenage driver is in intensive care after a street race ended in horrific circumstances in Menora.
A UNIVERSITY student is fighting for his life after his vehicle smashed into a tree on Alexander Drive, Menora, earlier today.
According to witnesses, two vehicles were racing each other in wet weather when one car, a silver Nissan Sylvia, fishtailed and left the road. The car ended up wrapped around the tree.
The male driver, a P-plater from Kardinya, was tonight in intensive care at Royal Perth Hospital.
Police arrested the driver of the other car, a Subaru, on suspicion of dangerous driving.
It is understood that the drivers are friends, both attending nearby Edith Cowan University.
