A CUSTOMER service rep who called a Perth grandmother a 'stupid c---' after she emailed him with questions has apologised for his behaviour.

The Sunday Times revealed today that the proprietor of website Oz Best Buys, Gordon Akman, called customer Sue Williams an "absolute f---wit" and "one hell of a rude stupid c---" after she sent a series of emails asking for the shipping details and postal tracking order of some portable solar panels she had purchased on the site.

When confronted about his behaviour this week, Mr Akman said it was justified and he didn't want "f---ing idiots" like Mrs Williams as a customer.

But this morning the Queensland business owner sent Mrs Williams and husband Steve an email expressing his "deeply regret" over his actions.

"I made a big mistake swearing that I deeply regret," the email said.

"I lost my temper because of all the emails after your order on Sunday night before I had a chance to fill the order and provide tracking information etc.

"I just wanted to refund your order and let you shop somewhere else.

"I didn't know the person I was emailing was a grandmother (not that it wouldn't have been wrong if it were anyone else).

"I feel really bad about it and sincerely apologise."

Mrs Williams said she was happy Mr Akman had apologised.
