A MAN who was found not guilty of a one-punch attack on Perth footballer Luke Adams has also been cleared of hitting a nightclub bouncer in the hours leading up to the fight.
Late last year, Dylan Winter was acquitted after a two-week trial in the Perth District Court accusing him of causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Adams, who played for Swan Districts in the West Australian Football League.
Mr Adams suffered serious brain injuries in the fracas, which Mr Winter argued had been self-defence against a much bigger man.
In Perth Magistrates Court today, Mr Winter was facing a charge relating to an alleged brawl which erupted outside a Northbridge nightclub about an hour before the incident involving Mr Adams.
It had been alleged he punched a bouncer outside the club at around 1.30am on May 1, 2011, but Magistrate Paul Heaney was asked by prosecutors to discharge the common assault case, which he did.
